We can all use a good vacation nowadays with the pandemic stress overload and constant fear of what tomorrow will bring. However, this stress can double when you are a full-time entrepreneur, and your livelihood depends on the success of your business. Entrepreneurship is a gratifying field to enter. There are great positives to being your own boss. For instance, you get to make your own schedule and flexibility is your best friend. You get to work on your passions and earn money while doing it. Most of all, you are working toward your dream and not someone else’s.

On the other hand, there are negatives to owning your own business. The first being your livelihood is always on the chopping block, especially if you do not make sales in the first year. Then, you could face homelessness. You are always working; you get no scheduled breaks or mealtimes. You wear many hats and you often get overwhelmed by the task and ever-changing business rules.

This overwhelming and exhausting feeling grows and grows until you listen to your body, or it stops on you. Before it gets to that point, you need to schedule a vacation. This can be hard as a business owner; you worry about what happens when you stop working, especially when you are the only one in charge of maintaining the business. Going on vacation is the ultimate body and mind revival despite that worry. It will refresh your brain and recharge your body. That is why I have compiled a brief list of beautiful spots guaranteed to help you unwind and get you back to being the best boss you can be.

The pictures are to die for. This beautiful place boasts magnificent landscapes and parks that are dedicated to rest and relaxation. During your stay here, you discover that the hotel offers a few thermal pools to help you relax those aching muscles and a variety of wellness treatments aimed toward healing and relaxing. You can also ask about their customized programs with one targeted at stress reduction.

Now, this is what I call recharging the mind and body. AmaTierra is an all-inclusive holistic health resort and yoga retreat, geared toward healing the mind, body, and spirit nestled in 8 acres of forest in the Costa Rica mountains. You are offered to rejuvenate wellness services such as detoxification and energy balancing therapy and massage therapy. I wish I were there right now.

Willows Lodge — Woodinville, Washington

I have always wanted to visit Seattle, Washington ever since I saw the movie 50 Shades of Grey. It looks so beautiful out there with all the high-rise buildings. Now, Willows Lodge is half an hour from Seattle, but it boasts vibrant gardens and peaceful old-growth trees. It also houses a royal spa facility that brings relaxation and rejuvenation. You also have your pick of wineries to discover. This place sounds beautiful, and I have plans to visit next year.

Hotel 1898 — La Rambla, Barcelona

Barcelona. It has been on my bucket list since I watched Cheetah Girls back in the early 2000’s. The culture and views are breathtaking. So, I am all about finding impressive spas and Hotel 1898 is in the top list. It features a hydromassage pool, dry sauna, and steam baths. My body aches to be there now.

Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten — Hamburg, Germany

Hamburg holds a special place in my heart and it has nothing to do with the spas or views, although I am sure those are reasons enough to visit. The spa at Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten looks great and I want to try it out. However, my Nigerian uncle lives in Hamburg and it has already been 28 years and I have yet to meet him. It will be a wonderful family reunion and a new place to add to my travel list.

Hermitage Bay — Saint Mary’s, Antigua

Lastly, there is the luxury five-star resort that houses twenty-five cottages tucked on sixteen gorgeous acres of tropical gardens and picturesque white and powdery sand beaches. Oh my. You can enjoy a day in your private pool or visit the garden spa known for its chakra treatments. The all-inclusive resort also includes three meals a day and a host of other amenities including snorkeling, kayaking, etc. Truly a paradise dream.

In the end, your body needs the rest. You cannot work your body past its tune-up, or your business will pay the price. These vacations are perfect for you to get back in touch with your mind, body, and spirit once again. You want to be the best version of yourself and taking a vacation is one way of doing that. I, for one, will be adding at least two of these to my bucket list because they all look so beautiful and peaceful and we are deserving of that, even if you are not a business owner. Take the time to listen to your body and relax.
