GREY Journal is committed to accurate reporting. When we publish something that is wrong, unclear, or incomplete, we correct it — promptly, transparently, and on the record.
How to Report an Error
If you spot a factual error in a GREY Journal article, please email care@greyjournal.net with:
- The URL of the article in question
- The specific sentence or claim you believe is incorrect
- A source supporting the correct information, if available
We review every correction request. You will receive an acknowledgement within two business days; most substantiated corrections are published within 24 to 72 hours of receipt.
How We Handle Corrections
When we correct a factual error in a published article, we do three things:
- Fix the incorrect text within the article itself.
- Append a dated editor’s note at the bottom of the article describing what was changed and why.
- Log the correction here on this page.
We do not silently edit published articles to change facts, quotes, or claims. If the change is substantive — a rewritten sentence, a corrected number, a removed passage — it is disclosed.
Types of Corrections
Typos and Formatting
Spelling errors, broken links, and formatting issues are fixed without a dated editor’s note unless they affected the meaning of the article.
Factual Corrections
Incorrect names, dates, numbers, titles, quotes, or claims are fixed in the article and disclosed in a dated correction note at the bottom of the piece.
Updates
When new information materially changes the reporting — a company issues a correction to a prior statement, a court ruling changes the status of a case, a subject publicly responds — we update the article and note the update with a dated editor’s note rather than republishing the piece as new.
Retractions
In rare cases where the core premise of an article is shown to be materially wrong, we retract the article. A retraction note remains in place of the article, explaining what was wrong and what has been done to address it.
