It is without a surprise that the talented and stunning Despina Mirou breaks out with three new projects with key talent. Her recent accomplishment was appearing in the new film “Modi” which stars Al Pacino and Johnny Depp. That is a major step for her as she keeps developing her acting skills and impressing directors globally. Despina has been at the acting game for over ten years and has the credits to prove her worth.
“I’m thrilled to play next to such great actors like Mickey Roorke, Leam Neeson, Andy Garcia, Udo kier, Lillo Brancato!! They have written their own history with their performances in world cinema! I want to thank the directors who chose me and recognized my talent in drama. All my films are dramas in cinema! I only do comedies on TV and stand-up of course.”
In New York she wrapped up a role as a stylist in the gritty crime film “Ave U” with co-stars Mickey O’ Rourke (Pope of Greenwich Village) and Lilo Brancato (Bronx Tale). The film was directed by Gino Donatelli and the script was written by Joe Peep. On the back of this project Despina also became a member of American Apple TV. As an international actress from Greece, she has planted her flag from New York to Hollywood making appearances and locking down roles feverishly. Her charismatic persona and dedication to the art of acting is obvious with every part she takes on.
Only recently she took on the role of Katarina in the project period piece “Hotel Tehran” which stars such talent like Liam Nesson (The Marksman) and Zachary Levi (Shazam) The film is a political piece based in the late 70’s which was filmed in Jackson, Mississippi. The story is based on a team of war-torn ex-agents into the heart of Tehran to take down a life-changing music project. “Hotel Tehran” is produced by Rocket Science, Oakhurst Entertainment, Astral Future and Dreamtime Films.
“I want to talk about the great Udo Kier! For the luck and honor of knowing him in my life! We met at the Palm Springs film festival, and we became friends immediately! He was so generous, talented, so funny we laughed so much together! He invited me to his house, and museum, and gave me rare footage from his films and Andy Warhol sculpture with their signatures!
I was shocked that he left us so suddenly! He is in heaven surrounded by angels! Because he was an angel!”
To add to this impressive list, she has ended a third film alongside the legendary Andy Garcia. The title of the project is “The Ark: An Iron sky story” which is categorized as a action / comedy/ sci-fi film. It is part of a franchise from the original “Iron Sky” that was released in 2012. It also features actor Udo Kier and directed by Timo Vuorensola the script by Max Wang. In this project she plays a mysterious woman / Femme fatale which suits her well. Despina has made major steps in her long career as an actress,
comedian and author. The multi-talented artist has become more sought after in US cinema from her work with the late Peter Bogdanovich to Al Pacino. It is no wonder she has graced the red carpet at events like Cannes, Sundance Film Festival and many more.
