According to a prominent food blogger, Burger King aims to spice up their trademark Whopper in time for Halloween.

According to an Instagram post by Markie Devo, an influencer known for breaking exclusive fast-food news, the ‘Ghost Pepper Whopper’ will be available at certain Burger King stores on Oct. 10 before going nationwide on Oct. 13.

According to Devo’s post, the burger “includes an orange bread, fiery queso, crunchy jalapeos, bacon, ghost pepper cheese, and a Whopper patty.” “I don’t know about you, but an orange bun seems like a good time to me.”

It won’t be the first time the Florida-based company tries to scare up some extra cash with a Halloween-themed burger.

Burger King presented their original flame-grilled patties on a black bun in 2015, and the “Nightmare King” whopper on a green bun in 2018 to encourage unpleasant nightmares.

For years, Burger King has leveraged the Whopper’s brand reputation through adaptations and limited-edition menu offers.

“We began out the year with a new $5 Have It Your Way Meal, including a Double Whopper Jr.,” said José Cil, CEO of Restaurant Brands International, which owns Tim Hortons, Popeyes, and Firehouse Subs in addition to Burger King, during the company’s first quarter results call.

“To respect the Whopper as the formidable multibillion-dollar brand that it is, we removed the renowned burger from our core discount promotions and added some fan-favorite varieties, the Big King and quarter-pound King, to our new two-for-five deal,” Cil said.

The Halloween Whopper might spark a burger war with competitor McDonald’s. Devo revealed that the brand’s iconic Halloween Pails — originally titled McPunk’n, McBoo, and McGoblin — would make a reappearance this year on October 18.
