There are plans for a new skyscraper in Seattle. Yes, a new skyscraper. And this may be the tallest one in the city yet! People are planning for a bright future ahead and they are looking forward to all the cool things we can do. Planning to put COVID-19 and the nightmare that this year has been behind, Seattle wants to start the next decade right. There is a concept for a brand-new skyscraper, that you can both work and live in, to be built in 2030.

I know, I know…that’s so far in the future! But when you think about it, it isn’t that far into the future. You see, this skyscraper is going to be epic. Like only seen in other countries epic. Ro Shroff, a partner and senior vice president at 3MIX—an international architecture and planning firm based in Shanghai, Seattle and Hong Kong—thinks this skyscraper will change the real estate industry as we know it.

After this pandemic, just the concept of having your home and your work within the same building could be beneficial to thousands! This future skyscraper will be 1,320 feet tall and it will make the Columbia Center, which stands at 937 feet tall, look like a dwarf. The concept of having a workplace, residential, and leisure level to the building makes it easier for those who barely leave work. They will just go upstairs and take a nap and then jump right back into the job. And not to mention…no Downtown Seattle traffic that you would need to deal with!

There are many pros to this future skyscraper, but also many fears and questions. So, what questions do you have? Let us know in the comments below!
