Over the past couple of weeks, we explored different playlists for entrepreneurs. Music is a great motivator for a lot of people. It provides reminders for those who dare to dream or are fighting the urge to stop dreaming. Here’s to the next phase of our entrepreneur playlist.

Entrepreneur Playlist Part 3

Entrepreneur enjoying life and work
Entrepreneur enjoying life and work

Live Your Life by T.I.:

“Got my mind on my money. And I’m not goin’ away… So keep on gettin’ your paper, and keep on climbin’. Look in the mirror and keep on shinin’. Until the game ends, ’til the clock stop. We gon’ post up on the top spot.” Beyond the lyrics of fancy clothes and material things, this song touches on the heart of an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs grind and work to get money for their livelihood but also to sustain the business. The hustle can be hard for many, but Rihanna reminds you to keep pushing until you reach your goals.

Survivor by Destiny’s Child:

“Now that you’re outta my life, I’m so much better…You thought that I’d be broke without ya, but I’m richer…I’m a survivor, I’m not gon’ give up. I’m not gon’ stop, I’m gon’ work harder. I’m a survivor, I’m gonna make it. I will survive, keep on survivin’.”

For the entrepreneur that left their 9-to-5 job to pursue their dream, this song combats the status quo. Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone, but neither is the 9-to-5. People that aspire to create their own business find themselves freer making their own rules. As a result, they can also make a lot more income than they would have in a job. And even business owners that struggle find they always survive and it’s worth it.

Heart of a Champion by Nelly:

“Ain’t no way they can stop me now… It’s the blood of a champion, pumping. Deep inside my veins, too much pride to be running. I’ma get what I can and more, even if my blood, my sweat, and my tears don’t mean nothing. It’s the heart of a champion.”

Business owners put their “blood, sweat, and tears into their craft. Sometimes the toil may seem worthless, but like this song nothing can stop you. Everything, including the drive is in you. Building your own business takes a heart of a champion.

Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield:

“So close you can almost taste it. Release your inhibitions… No one else can feel it for you. Only you can let it in… Live your life with arms wide open. Today is where your book begins. The rest is still unwritten…I break tradition. Sometimes my tries are outside the lines. We’ve been conditioned to not make mistakes. But I can’t live that way.”

As you listen to this song, you can’t help but dream big. Being an entrepreneur, you see beyond what others allow themselves to see and, in many ways, break tradition. If you’re on the fence about whether or not you should start something you’ve wanted, live open to opportunity. Taking that step is only the start and you begin a chapter of unlimited possibility. So get out there and start writing your story.

Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammar:

“I’ve been waiting on a sunset, bills on my mindset. I can’t deny they’re getting high… I’ve been trying to survive. The glow that the sun gets right around sunset. Helps me to realize. This is just a journey, drop your worries. You are gonna turn out fine.”

Starting out some entrepreneurs feel the weight of maintaining their business operations. Excessive bills can make you question whether you’ll survive and if it’s worth the effort. But like the title of the song, you have to keep your head up. This is truly a part of the journey and continuing your drive and adjusting as necessary, you’ll be fine.

Superheroes by The Script:

“When you’ve been fighting for it all your life. You’ve been struggling to make things right. That’s how a superhero learns to fly. Every day, every hour, turn the pain into power.”

Hearing the term superhero, you might imagine the latest Marvel movie. However, they aren’t the only superheroes. Entrepreneurs are their own form of superheroes, there may be a battle maintaining, but they continue the fight every day.
