Together AI, a company offering a cloud platform that allows developers to work with both open and custom AI models, has successfully raised $305 million in its latest funding round. Led by General Catalyst and Prosperity7 Ventures from Saudi Arabia, the round boosts the company’s valuation to an impressive $3.3 billion, a surge of over 160% from its previous $1.25 billion valuation. This follows a $106 million investment from Salesforce Ventures in March.
The funding round attracted a diverse group of investors, including Salesforce Ventures, Nvidia, and Kleiner Perkins. This latest influx of capital comes as Together AI achieves a significant milestone, surpassing $100 million in annualized revenue, a dramatic leap from $30 million just last February.
AI Startup Funding Trends
The surge in funding for AI startups shows no signs of slowing down, underscoring a robust investor appetite for innovation in this space. Last month, Anthropic, a competitor to ChatGPT with its AI assistant Claude, raised an eye-popping $1 billion from Google, reflecting fierce competition within the AI landscape.
The fourth quarter of last year alone saw AI startup investments exceed $42 billion—nearly double the amount from the third quarter, which was already a record. This growth represents a 3.5-fold increase compared to the same period the previous year, indicating the accelerating significance and potential of AI technology in the market.
