Do you have ads following you around?

Let me explain. There is tracking technology embedded with each ad that pops up so that it can follow you on multiple platforms and apps. This means that you can see an ad for a specific pair of boots on Google and you’ll see it pop up again while scrolling on Instagram or Facebook. It’s genius because you see it constantly and then you start thinking about it and you might be more intrigued to buy it.

However, it is very annoying because you start thinking that your device is listening to you or stalking you and it turns into a big circle of chaos. So, Google decided that they would help stop the chaos by getting rid of any tracking technology on ads that show on their end. Simply put, the boots you saw on Google will stay on Google. You can click out of the ad and never have to think about it again.

But what about the ads on the apps?

Well, Apple announced they have something planned for that too. Starting in the spring, users will only be tracked if they agree to it. There should be a notification that will pop up on each app you download that will give you the option to be ad tracked or not. Google and Apple are doing their best to make their companies as stalking-free as possible.

Are you a fan of ads following you or are you excited to get rid of them? Let us know in the comment section.
