It’s no secret what going down in Miami, Florida this Sunday. Veteran boxer Floyd Mayweather (50-0) is ready to step back into the ring with YouTube sensation, Logan Paul (0-1). The bout began after an altercation broke out between Mayweather and Paul’s brother Jake Paul at a press conference. What a lot of viewers didn’t expect was when the news dropped a few days ago that this bout is an exhibition fight. This means there will be no winners, no judges, and only eight 3-minute rounds. So, why buy it?
Well, if you’re into making a little quick cash on the side, online sportsbook Bovada released their predictions for the fight. With no surprise, Mayweather stands a large -1000 favorite with Paul coming as a +600 underdog. So, in order to make any profit, you would need to wager $1,000 to get $100 with a Mayweather win, while a $100 bet on Paul winning would profit you $600.
Looking at Odds Shark sporting betting calculator, Mayweather’s odds of -1000 show a win probability of 90.91. Paul’s odds of +600 have an implied win probability of 14.29 percent. This prediction even seems to be a little generous toward the underdog against the king of boxing.
