For those of you who have been dreaming of the days you could go back to an amusement park, you’re in luck! Not only are amusement parks like Disneyland and Universal studios back in action (with limited capacity, of course), but Coney Island is back on the scene.
Coney Island opened their doors this past weekend, and all the families are thrilled about it. functioning at a third of normal capacity, two amusement parks are open. Luna Park and Deno’s Wonder Wheel are back and ready for some customers. After a long year of no business due to COVID, Coney Island is looking forward to their old friends to come and visit.
Kids are able to run around and ride all the rides, play all the games, and enjoy all the cotton candy Coney Island can offer. It’s a nice, outdoor activity to do if you’re in the area and want to slowly get back into what we all used to do.
The kids and people working at the amusement parks aren’t the only one’s happy about this recent opening. Restaurants and stores near the parks are thrilled to be back in business and are hoping they see an increase in sales.
When the pandemic hit, like all other businesses, the little pop-up shops and eateries were forced to shut down, bringing in no money and causing tons of financial issues for the area. But that is all about to change. With more foot traction near Coney Island, these stores are already seeing more visitors and buyers. In a couple weeks, they should see a huge increase in sales which might even be better than the cotton candy!
