The Banana Ball Championship League, home of the Savannah Bananas, announced its 2027 season schedule on October 15 at its City Selection Show, days after the Texas Tailgaters beat the Bananas in the league’s inaugural Banana Bowl championship. The 2027 tour reaches 79 stadiums across three countries, including the league’s first international games, and tickets again run through an online lottery rather than a normal on-sale.
The schedule details below come from USA Today’s October 15 report and the league’s official ticket lottery site.
Key takeaways
- The 2027 season covers 79 stadiums in the U.S., Mexico and Canada, with the kickoff February 25-27 in Auburn, Alabama.
- First international stops: Monterrey and Tijuana in Mexico, Toronto and Winnipeg in Canada.
- A new Banana Ball 360 format debuts at Notre Dame Stadium, with two fields and teams switching every inning.
- Tickets are distributed by random lottery drawing, not first-come sales; the league warns about third-party ticket fraud.
What the 2027 tour looks like
The season opens with three days of games in Auburn, Alabama: Texas Tailgaters vs. Indianapolis Clowns on February 25 and Loco Beach Coconuts vs. Party Animals on February 26 at Plainsman Park, then Firefighters vs. Savannah Bananas at Jordan-Hare Stadium on February 27.
From there the tour plays 23 MLB stadiums, 10 college and NFL football stadiums and 33 minor league ballparks. Football stops include Tiger Stadium, Soldier Field, Huntington Bank Field, the Alamodome and Reliant Stadium. Landmark dates include the Field of Dreams in Iowa and Cooperstown, New York. The Championship Bowl closes the season September 25 at the new Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
The international slate is a first for the league: Texas Tailgaters vs. Savannah Bananas in Monterrey on February 5-6, Loco Beach Coconuts vs. Party Animals in Tijuana on February 12-13, Indianapolis Clowns vs. Savannah Bananas at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on August 14-15, and two Winnipeg stops in late August.
On June 26 at Notre Dame Stadium, the league debuts Banana Ball 360: two playing fields set in opposite corners of the stadium, with teams switching fields every inning.
How the ticket lottery works
The Bananas do not sell most tickets through a normal first-come on-sale. Fans join the official ticket lottery list, and a random drawing before each game decides who gets the chance to buy official tickets, per USA Today.
One caution on timing: the league’s official lottery site still displayed its 2026 tour list as closed when checked October 16, with the 2027 list not yet shown there. If you want 2027 tickets, the official lottery site is the place to watch for the list to open – not a resale marketplace. The organization warns that tickets on third-party platforms can be fraudulent, so a “guaranteed” ticket listing before the lottery drawing deserves skepticism.
Why founders watch this league
The Banana Ball Championship League has built a six-team entertainment property – the Bananas, Texas Tailgaters, Party Animals, Loco Beach Coconuts, Indianapolis Clowns and Firefighters – around a rule-bent version of baseball, and it now sells out football stadiums. The 2027 expansion into Mexico and Canada, a stadium-scale format experiment and a championship in an NFL venue are the business story: a fan-first distribution model where the lottery list, not the ticket window, is the top of the funnel. That demand-sequencing model is the piece worth studying, whatever you sell.
