Nokia Corporation has unveiled significant changes to its executive leadership and organizational structure, marking a pivotal step in the company’s ongoing transformation. Effective October 1, 2025, Nokia will establish two new teams: the Technology and AI Organization (TAO) and the Corporate Development Organization (CDO). These changes are designed to enhance Nokia’s capabilities in technology innovation, support business development, and create more focused operational units.

Key Appointments to Drive Growth

Pallavi Mahajan will join Nokia as Chief Technology and AI Officer, leading the newly formed TAO. Mahajan brings extensive experience from her previous roles at Intel, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Juniper Networks, where she specialized in networks, software, AI, and cloud technologies. Her leadership is expected to strengthen Nokia’s position in the rapidly evolving AI and security landscape.

Konstanty Owczarek will take on the role of Chief Corporate Development Officer, heading the CDO. Owczarek’s background spans corporate development, investment banking, and strategy, with executive experience at HPE and AIG. He is tasked with accelerating Nokia’s strategy evolution, overseeing mergers and acquisitions, and managing strategic partnerships.

Strategic Focus on AI and Corporate Development

  • Technology and AI Organization (TAO): This new team will integrate Nokia Bell Labs, Technology and AI Leadership, and Group Security, focusing on core technologies and AI-driven innovation.
  • Corporate Development Organization (CDO): The CDO will consolidate corporate development, strategic partnerships, M&A, incubation activities, and NGP Capital to support Nokia’s business growth and strategic execution.

Nokia’s President and CEO, Justin Hotard, emphasized the importance of these changes, stating that a dedicated Technology and AI organization will be crucial for differentiation and customer value in the AI supercycle. The new Corporate Development team is expected to accelerate strategic initiatives and support business units across the company.

Leadership Transition

Nishant Batra, Nokia’s current Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, will step down from his role and the Group Leadership Team effective September 30, 2025. Batra played a key role in transforming Nokia Bell Labs, advancing Nokia’s position in 6G, and driving digital and security transformations over the past five years.
