The beauty industry is changing. Every now and then a new beauty trend takes the industry by storm and all brands try to inculcate those trends into their product and give birth to new beauty brands. We have seen shifts from K-Beauty (Korean Beauty) to J-Beauty (Japanese Beauty), but now we have something even more bewitching than this: the use of CBD and hemp extracts not only in skincare, but in makeup too! Not many people realize it, but cannabis is the next big thing and one of the “must-have” ingredients in your beauty regimen.

What is CBD Extract and Hemp Oil?

CBD is the short form of cannabidiol. CBD oil is made by extracting CBD elements from the cannabis plant and mitigating it with a carrier oil like hemp seed oil. Research has shown it’s beneficial for people who have chronic pain in joints and arthritis. Furthermore, the combination of CBD and Hemp is known for healing skin irritation, inflammation, and balancing oils. These extracts don’t have any psychoactive effects on our bodies, but work to improve the appearance of our skin. They have a lasting effect by reducing redness due to its anti-bacterial properties and nature.

CBD Skincare and Makeup

Researchers are diving deeper into the benefits of infused CBD in beauty products. Skincare and beauty brands have launched collections and new niche beauty brands have come to light with this trend, giving people the perfect skin they have always dreamed of.

Some popular brands that have already launched CBD beauty collections are Kiehls, Josie Maran, Milk Makeup, and Herbivore to name a few. Each of these products have one thing in common: reduce skin inflammation. Milk Makeup went on to release an entire makeup and skincare collection called Kush. Kiehls CBD oil has been well received by the beauty industry and is popular amongst macro and micro influencers. People have already started implementing this trend in their beauty regimen by using cannabis hydrating face masks.

Through all of this, expect to have even more products derived from CBD and hemp. Brands like Aussie Hair have launched a new collection of shampoos and conditioners with CBD and hemp, which help in taming frizz and adding volume to fine and flat hair. A lesser known fact about CBD is that it is high in Vitamin E and fatty acids. This means it nourishes the scalp and strengthens hair, which in turn encourages hair growth. It also helps with the absorption of main fatty acids Omega-3, Omega-9, and Omega 6.

The Future of CBD Beauty Trends

The future of this trend is huge as people are realizing the importance of this must-have beauty ingredient in serums, creams, and face masks. Soon enough this trend will be implemented with collagen drinks. Just imagining the cross of collagen boost drinks with CBD oil will create a rave amongst people. Currently there are CBD capsules and tablets which are sold in healthcare stores, however they are limited to joint pains and arthritis. This trend is here to stay for a very long time, so be ready for products which are worth spending money on.
