We are excited to host an event that will highlight WE NYC's impact on New York City's entrepreneurial ecosystem. During the last 5 years, WE NYC has reached almost 17,000 women with more than 28,000 services! This event will also feature a conversation between Cate Luzio, Founder & CEO of  Luminary, and Maya Komerov, Founder of shopIN.nyc. Attendees should come prepared to dance, engage with fellow women entrepreneurs, and take notes from successful founders who have been through it all!

Speaker Bios

Cate Luzio is the Founder and CEO of  Luminary, the premier collaboration hub for women who are passionate about professional development and expanding their networks. This 15,000 square foot meeting space in New York City includes a rooftop deck and two floors of open workspace, conference rooms and meeting space, a fitness studio, beauty bar, locker room, lactation room, prayer/meditation room and much more. Cate has over twenty years of leadership experience in financial services and was named in Inc.'s 2019 Female Founders 100 List. She has also been featured in the Financial Times, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Fast Company,  Bloomberg,  USA Today,  NowThis News,  Cheddar,  WWD,  Robb Report,  Women's Health and more.  She holds a master's degree in International Relations from Georgetown University and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland. Cate also sits on the Advisory Board of Girls Inc. NYC as well as the National Board of WaterAid. She is also a Forbes and Fast Company contributor. She is one of WE NYC's WE Connect Mentors - successful women who volunteer their time to coach other entrepreneurs.

Maya Komerov is an experienced entrepreneur and CEO with extensive experience in establishing, building, and initiating full-stage growth of companies. She doesn’t stop to learn, and is constantly challenging, testing, and trying new things. As Founder of shopIN.nyc she is empowering communities, and allowing the economic return of neighborhoods. Their mission is to make every neighborhood a platform where businesses, brands, and residents build daily relationships that benefit everyone. They connect the online and offline world through data for the advancement of the community. shopIN.nyc was started to help local stores team up to offer an alternative to big online retailers (Amazon, etc.)
